Dive NI is a new online resource that will map and provide information and imagery for scuba diving sites around the coast of Northern Ireland. The website is being built by the local diving community, for the local diving community, and will be the definitive guide for exploring Northern Ireland’s rich natural and historical marine heritage.
The website is being developed by the Centre for Environmental Data and Recording (National Museums Northern Ireland), with help from local dive clubs, dive centres, Seasearch and professional dive teams, who are providing information, images and videos for specific dive sites. Dive NI is due to be launched in April 2020, but with facilities for users to provide comments, ratings and images, as well as submitting new sites, the website will continue to grow and grow.
As well as dive site pages, the website will also include pages for local dive clubs and centres, guidelines for responsible diving and information for recording marine life. We look forward to the Dive Ireland show as an opportunity to meet potential users of, and contributors to, the new Dive NI website.
